Hizb 39
Juz 20
And certainly We sent to Samood their brother Salih, saying: Serve Allah; and lo! they became two sects quarrelling with each other. (45) He said: O my people! wherefore seek ye to hasten the evil before the good? Wherefore ask ye not forgiveness of Allah, that haply ye may be shewn mercy. (46) They said, 'We augur ill of thee and of those that are with thee.' He said, 'Your augury is with God; nay, but you are a people being proved.' (47) There were in that city nine persons who spread disorder in the land, and did not reform. (48) They said: "Swear a mutual oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his people, and that we shall then say to his heir (when he seeks vengeance): 'We were not present at the slaughter of his people, and we are positively telling the truth.'" (49) So they plotted a plot, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not. (50) See, then, what the consequences of their plan were. We destroyed them and their people utterly, all together. (51) So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know. (52) And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allah. (53) And (remember) Lout (Lot)! When he said to his people. Do you commit Al-Fahishah (evil, great sin, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, sodomy, etc.) while you see (one another doing evil without any screen, etc.)?" (54) Do you lustfully approach men instead of women? Nay, you engage in acts of sheer ignorance." (55) ۞ Therefore the answer of his people was nothing except that they said, “Expel the family of Lut from your township; these people wish purity!” (56) So We delivered him and his family, except his wife: We ordained her to be one of those who stayed behind, (57) And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
