Hizb 39
Juz 20
AND [likewise,] indeed, We sent unto [the tribe of] Thamud their brother Salih [with this message]: "Worship God alone!" and behold, they were [split into] two factions contending with one another. (45) (Saleh) said: "O people, why do you wish to hasten evil rather than good? Why not ask for God's forgiveness? You may well be forgiven." (46) They said: "We augur ill omen from you and those with you." He said: "Your ill omen is with Allah; nay, but you are a people that are being tested." (47) There were in that city nine persons who spread disorder in the land, and did not reform. (48) They said: Swear one to another by Allah that we verily will attack him and his household by night, and afterward we will surely say unto his friend: We witnessed not the destruction of his household. And lo! we are truthtellers. (49) And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan while they perceived not. (50) and behold, how was the end of their device! For We destroyed them and their people all together. (51) and [now] those dwellings of theirs are empty, [ruined] as an outcome of their evil deeds. In this, behold, there is a message indeed for people of [innate] knowledge (52) And We delivered those who believed and who guarded (against evil). (53) And Lot! when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination knowingly? (54) You lust after men in place of women. You are indeed a stolid people." (55) ۞ But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure." (56) We therefore rescued him and his family, except his wife; We had decreed that she is of those who will remain behind. (57) And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. (58)
