Hizb 39
Juz 20
And indeed We sent to Thamud their brother Salih (Saleh), saying: "Worship Allah (Alone and none else). Then look! They became two parties (believers and disbelievers) quarreling with each other." (45) He said: "O my people! Why do you seek to hasten the evil (torment) before the good (Allah's Mercy)? Why seek you not the Forgiveness of Allah, that you may receive mercy?" (46) They said, “We consider you an evil omen, and your companions”; he said, “Your evil omen is with Allah in fact you people have fallen into trial.” (47) And there were in the city nine men (from the sons of their chiefs), who made mischief in the land, and would not reform. (48) they said, 'Swear you, one to another, by God, "We will attack him and his family by night, then we will tell his protector, We were not witnesses of the destruction of his family; and assuredly we are truthful men."' (49) And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not. (50) Now see the end of their machinations: We destroyed them and their entire people. (51) So these their habitations lie deserted now because of their iniquities. Verily there is a sign in this for those who understand. (52) And We delivered those who believed and who guarded (against evil). (53) And Lot! when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination knowingly? (54) You lust after men in place of women. You are indeed a stolid people." (55) ۞ But his people's only answer was this: "Expel [Lot and] Lot's followers from your township! Verily, they are folk who make themselves out to be pure!" (56) So We saved him and his family, except his wife. We destined her to be of those who remained behind. (57) And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. (58)
