Hizb 39
Juz 20
AND [likewise,] indeed, We sent unto [the tribe of] Thamud their brother Salih [with this message]: "Worship God alone!" and behold, they were [split into] two factions contending with one another. (45) He said: "O my people! why ask ye to hasten on the evil in preference to the good? If only ye ask Allah for forgiveness, ye may hope to receive mercy. (46) They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen is with Allah. Rather, you are a people being tested." (47) And there were in the city nine men (from the sons of their chiefs), who made mischief in the land, and would not reform. (48) Swearing by Allah they said to one another, “We will indeed attack him and his family at night, and then say to his heir, ‘We were not present at the time of slaying of this household, and indeed we are truthful.’” (49) They hatched up the plot; We also planned without their knowledge. (50) We destroyed them and their people altogether. (51) and [now] those dwellings of theirs are empty, [ruined] as an outcome of their evil deeds. In this, behold, there is a message indeed for people of [innate] knowledge (52) And We saved those who believed, and used to fear Allah, and keep their duty to Him. (53) And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality while you are seeing? (54) Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant! (55) ۞ But this had only one answer from his people. They said: "Expel Lot's folk from your city. They pretend to be absolutely clean." (56) So We delivered him and his family, except his wife; We decreed she should be of those that tarried. (57) And We rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned. (58)
