Hizb 39
Juz 20
And We verily sent unto Thamud their brother Salih, saying: Worship Allah. And lo! they (then became two parties quarrelling. (45) (Saleh) said: "O people, why do you wish to hasten evil rather than good? Why not ask for God's forgiveness? You may well be forgiven." (46) They said, “We consider you an evil omen, and your companions”; he said, “Your evil omen is with Allah in fact you people have fallen into trial.” (47) And there were in the city nine men (from the sons of their chiefs), who made mischief in the land, and would not reform. (48) Swearing by Allah they said to one another, “We will indeed attack him and his family at night, and then say to his heir, ‘We were not present at the time of slaying of this household, and indeed we are truthful.’” (49) So they plotted a plot, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not. (50) And behold the consequences of their devising! We destroyed them, and their nation altogether. (51) So these their habitations lie deserted now because of their iniquities. Verily there is a sign in this for those who understand. (52) seeing that We saved those who had attained to faith and were conscious of Us, (53) And (We sent) Lut, when he said to his people: What! do you commit indecency while you see? (54) Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly." (55) ۞ Then there was no answer of his people save that they said: drive forth the family of Lut from your City, verily they are a people who would be pure! (56) Then We delivered him and his household save his wife: We destined her to be of the lingerers. (57) And We rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned. (58)
