Hizb 39
Juz 20
And assuredly We sent unto the Thamud their brother Saleh saying: worship Allah. Then lo! they became two parties contending. (45) He urged them, "O my people, why do you wish to hasten on the evil rather than the good? Why do you not ask forgiveness of God, so that you may be shown mercy?" (46) They said, "We see you and your followers as an evil omen." He replied, "No, your evil omen is with God; the truth is that you are a people being put to the test." (47) There were nine tribes in the city spreading evil without any reform in the land. (48) They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allah that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.' " (49) And so they devised an evil scheme; but We devised a subtle scheme (of Our own), and they perceived it not. (50) Then see how was the end of their plot! Verily! We destroyed them and their nation, all together. (51) and [now] those dwellings of theirs are empty, [ruined] as an outcome of their evil deeds. In this, behold, there is a message indeed for people of [innate] knowledge (52) and We saved those who believed in and feared God. (53) And (We sent) Lut, when he said to his people: What! do you commit indecency while you see? (54) Must you go lustfully to men instead of women? Indeed, you are a people who are deeply ignorant." (55) ۞ His people had no answer but to say, "Expel Lot and his family from the town for they want to be pure." (56) So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind. (57) And We rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned. (58)
