Hizb 39
Juz 20
AND [likewise,] indeed, We sent unto [the tribe of] Thamud their brother Salih [with this message]: "Worship God alone!" and behold, they were [split into] two factions contending with one another. (45) 'My nation' he said, 'why do you wish to hasten evil rather than good? Why do you not ask the forgiveness of Allah, in order that you find mercy' (46) They said, “We consider you an evil omen, and your companions”; he said, “Your evil omen is with Allah in fact you people have fallen into trial.” (47) And there were nine of a group in the city, who spread corruption in the land and rectified not. (48) They said: Swear to each other by Allah that we will certainly make a sudden attack on him and his family by night, then we will say to his heir: We did not witness the destruction of his family, and we are most surely truthful. (49) They plotted and planned, but We too planned, even while they perceived it not. (50) And behold the consequences of their devising! We destroyed them, and their nation altogether. (51) Because of their wrongdoing, their houses are in ruins, in that surely there is a sign for people who have knowledge, (52) And We saved those who believed and practised righteousness. (53) Lot asked his people, "Do you understandably commit indecency? (54) Must you really approach men with lust instead of women? Nay, but you are people without any awareness (of right and wrong)!" (55) ۞ And the only answer of his people was that they said, 'Expel the folk of Lot from your city; they are men that keep themselves clean!' (56) So We delivered him and his family, except his wife; We decreed she should be of those that tarried. (57) And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). So evil was the rain of those who were warned. (58)
