Hizb 39
Juz 20
And We verily sent unto Thamud their brother Salih, saying: Worship Allah. And lo! they (then became two parties quarrelling. (45) He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil instead of good? Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allah that you may receive mercy?" (46) They said, “We consider you an evil omen, and your companions”; he said, “Your evil omen is with Allah in fact you people have fallen into trial.” (47) There were nine tribes in the city spreading evil without any reform in the land. (48) They said: "Swear a mutual oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his people, and that we shall then say to his heir (when he seeks vengeance): 'We were not present at the slaughter of his people, and we are positively telling the truth.'" (49) And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not. (50) Behold, then, what all their scheming came to in the end: We utterly destroyed them and their people, all of them; (51) Now behold their houses that lie in utter ruins because of their wrong-doing. Verily there is a Sign in this for the people who know. (52) And We delivered those who believed and were godfearing. (53) And (remember) Lut when he said to his people, “What! You stoop to the shameful whereas you can see?” (54) Must you go lustfully to men instead of women? Indeed, you are a people who are deeply ignorant." (55) ۞ There was no other answer given by his people except that they said: "Drive out the family of Lout (Lot) from your city. Verily, these are men who want to be clean and pure!" (56) So We saved him and his family, except his wife, whom We decreed should stay behind. (57) and We pelted them with torrential rain. How dreadful that rain was for those who had been warned! (58)
