Al-Naml 4 of 7
And We had certainly sent to Thamud their brother Salih, [saying], "Worship Allah," and at once they were two parties conflicting. (45) 'My nation' he said, 'why do you wish to hasten evil rather than good? Why do you not ask the forgiveness of Allah, in order that you find mercy' (46) They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen is with Allah. Rather, you are a people being tested." (47) And there were nine of a group in the city, who spread corruption in the land and rectified not. (48) They said: swear by God one to another that we shall surely fall upon him and his household by night and thereafter we shall surely say unto his heir; we witnessed not the destruction of his household, and verily we are truthtellers. (49) And they devised a scheme and, without their knowledge, We devised a scheme. (50) Then see the nature of the consequence of their plotting, for lo! We destroyed them and their people, every one. (51) Those are their houses, all fallen down because of the evil they committed; surely in that is a sign for a people who have knowledge. (52) and We saved those who believed in and feared God. (53) And Lot! when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination knowingly? (54) “What! You lustfully go towards men, leaving the women?! In fact, you are an ignorant people.” (55) ۞ His people had no answer but to say, "Expel Lot and his family from the town for they want to be pure." (56) So We delivered him and his family, except his wife; We decreed she should be of those that tarried. (57) And We rained a rain upon them. Dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. (58)
