The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book (1) A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- (2) Who establish worship and pay the poor-due and are sure of the Hereafter. (3) As to those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds pleasing in their eyes; and so they wander about in distraction. (4) Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers. (5) Thou receivest the Koran from One All-wise, All-knowing. (6) (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." (7) When he came up to it, a voice called out, "Blessed be whoever is near this fire, and whoever is around it! Glory be to God, Lord of the Universe! (8) Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. (9) "And throw down your stick!" But when he saw it moving as if it were a snake, he turned in flight, and did not look back. (It was said): "O Musa (Moses)! Fear not, verily! The Messengers fear not in front of Me. (10) "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (11) Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." (12) But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic." (13) They denied them unjustly out of pride, though their souls acknowledged them. See, how was the end of the corrupt workers! (14)
