The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ TA SIN. THESE are the verses of the Qur'an, and collection of explicit laws, (1) A guidance and good tidings for believers (2) Who establish worship and pay the poor-due and are sure of the Hereafter. (3) We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: (4) It is they whom the worst of suffering awaits: for it is they, they who in the life to come shall be the greatest losers! (5) As for you, (O Muhammad), you are receiving the Qur'an from the Most Wise, the All-Knowing. (6) (Remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his household: "Verily! I have seen a fire, I will bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand, that you may warm yourselves." (7) So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds; (8) Moses, it is I, Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. (9) Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, (10) Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful. (11) Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." (12) But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic." (13) And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors. (14)
