The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous. (1) As guidance and good tidings for the believers (2) who establish Prayer and give Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. (3) We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: (4) These are they who shall have an evil punishment, and in the hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. (5) As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. (6) Lo! [While lost in the desert,] Moses said to his family: "Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]; I may bring you from there some tiding [as to which way we are to pursue,] or bring you [at least] a burning brand so that you might warm yourselves." (7) So when he reached it, it was proclaimed, “Blessed is he who is in the location of the fire (Moosa) and those who are close to it (the angels); and Purity is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.” (8) "O Moses! verily, I am Allah, the exalted in might, the wise!.... (9) And cast down your staff. So when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not return: O Musa! fear not; surely the apostles shall not fear in My presence; (10) and neither need anyone who has done wrong and then has replaced the wrong with good: for, verily, I am much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! (11) Put your hand inside your collar and it will come out luminous without evil? among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his nation, indeed they were an impious nation' (12) But when Our signs came to them visibly, they said, 'This is a manifest sorcery'; (13) They rejected the evidence because of their arrogance and injustice, although their souls knew it to be true. Think how terrible the end of the sinful ones was! (14)
