The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear; (1) a guidance and glad tidings to believers, (2) Who establish worship and pay the poor-due and are sure of the Hereafter. (3) As to those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, but they blindly wander on. (4) Those are they for whom shall be an evil torment. And in the Hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. (5) And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are receiving the Quran from the One, All-Wise, All-Knowing. (6) Tell of Moses who said to his family, "I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning brand for you to warm yourselves." (7) But when he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is whosoever is in the fire, and whosoever is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (8) "O Musa (Moses)! Verily! It is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (9) Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent he turned his back and fled without turning (to look). "O Moses," (said the voice), "be not fearful. Surely those sent as messengers do not fear in My presence, (10) save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. (11) Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." (12) So when Our clear signs came to them, they said: This is clear enchantment. (13) They denied them unjustly out of pride, though their souls acknowledged them. See, how was the end of the corrupt workers! (14)
