In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. Those are the signs of the Koran and a Manifest Book, (1) A guide (to the Right Path); and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)]. (2) Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure. (3) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (4) Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss. (5) You have received this Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing. (6) When Moses said to his people 'I observe a fire, and will bring you news of it, or I will bring you a flaming brand, that haply you shall warm yourselves.' (7) But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. (8) Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. (9) And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence, (10) Excepting any who may have done wrong and thereafter changeth evil for good then verily I am Forgiving, Merciful. (11) "Now place thy hand into thy bosom: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish!" [And thou shalt go] with nine [of My] messages unto Pharaoh and his people for, verily, they are people depraved!" (12) But when Our signs came to them in all their clarity they said, "This is clearly sorcery!" (13) And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers! (14)
