The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear; (1) A guidance and good tidings for the believers, (2) who pray regularly and pay obligatory alms and have firm faith in the Hereafter. (3) Verily those who believe not in the Hereafter - fairseeming unto them We have made their works, so that they wander perplexed. (4) those are they whom an evil chastisement awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an from before the Wise, the Knowing. (6) (Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.” (7) But when Moses came to the fire, a call was sounded: "Blessed is He Who is in the fire and whatever is around it. Glory be to Allah, the Sustainer of all in the Universe. (8) [And God spoke thus:] "O Moses! Verily I alone am God, the Almighty, the Wise!" (9) Cast down your staff' And when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and did not turn back. 'Moses, do not fear, indeed the Messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me, (10) save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. (11) And put thy hand into the bosom of thy robe, it will come forth white but unhurt. (This will be one) among nine tokens unto Pharaoh and his people Lo! they were ever evil-living folk. (12) Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest. (13) And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors. (14)
