The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a Scripture that maketh plain; (1) a guidance and glad tidings to believers, (2) Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and are certain of the Hereafter. (3) Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so they wander about blindly. (4) They will suffer the worst kind of torment and will be lost in the life to come. (5) You have been conveyed the Qur'an from One all-wise and all-knowing. (6) (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." (7) But when Moses came to the fire, a call was sounded: "Blessed is He Who is in the fire and whatever is around it. Glory be to Allah, the Sustainer of all in the Universe. (8) O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. (9) Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, (10) “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) (11) And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient." (12) But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic." (13) They denied those Signs out of iniquity and arrogance although their hearts were convinced of their truth. So see how evil was the end of those mischief-makers! (14)
