The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; (1) A guide (to the Right Path); and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)]. (2) who establish Prayer and give Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. (3) Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so they wander about blindly. (4) those are they whom an evil chastisement awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) And most surely you are made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing Allah. (6) Lo! [While lost in the desert,] Moses said to his family: "Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]; I may bring you from there some tiding [as to which way we are to pursue,] or bring you [at least] a burning brand so that you might warm yourselves." (7) When he approached the fire, he was told, "Blessed is the one in the fire and those around it. All glory belongs to God, the Lord of the Universe. (8) O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (9) And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence, (10) “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) (11) "And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people, they are a people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). (12) Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest. (13) And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers. (14)
