The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta Sin. These are verses from the Quran, a book that makes things clear; (1) A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- (2) Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure. (3) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (4) These are they who shall have an evil punishment, and in the hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. (5) You have received the Koran from the Wise, the Knower. (6) (Remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his household: "Verily! I have seen a fire, I will bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand, that you may warm yourselves." (7) But when he came close to it, a call was sounded: "Blessed are all who are within [reach of] this fire, and all who are near it! And limitless in His glory is God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!" (8) “O Moosa, I am indeed, in truth, Allah the Almighty, the Wise.” (9) "And throw down your stick!" But when he saw it moving as if it were a snake, he turned in flight, and did not look back. (It was said): "O Musa (Moses)! Fear not, verily! The Messengers fear not in front of Me. (10) Except those who do some wrong but afterwards do good to make up for the wrong. And I am forgiving and merciful. (11) Now put your hand into your bosom, and it will come forth shining without any blemish. (These are two of the) nine Signs to be carried to Pharaoh and his people. They are surely a wicked people." (12) Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest. (13) And they denied them out of malice and pride, though in their hearts they believed that they were true. So see how was the end of evil-doers! (14)
