The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta-Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous. (1) A guidance and glad tidings for the believers. (2) Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. (3) As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds seem attractive to them so they stumble around in perplexity. (4) They are those who will suffer the worst chastisement in this life, and will be the greatest losers in the life to come. (5) As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. (6) (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." (7) And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! (8) O Musa! surely I am Allah, the Mighty, the Wise; (9) And cast down your staff. So when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not return: O Musa! fear not; surely the apostles shall not fear in My presence; (10) except he who has committed some wrong. But if he substitutes good in place of evil, I am Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate. (11) And put thy hand into thy bosom, it shall come forth white, without hurt: amongst nine signs unto Fir'awn and his people. Verily they have been a people transgressing. (12) But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic." (13) And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters. (14)
