The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear; (1) A guidance and glad tidings unto the believers. (2) Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and are certain of the Hereafter. (3) As to those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, but they blindly wander on. (4) they are the ones who will have the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. (5) Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware. (6) Moses said to his family, "I have seen some fire. I shall bring you some news about it or some fire so that you can warmyourselves". (7) But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. (8) Moses, it is I, Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. (9) Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, (10) “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) (11) “And put your hand inside your armpit it will come out shining white, not due to any illness; a sign among the nine signs towards Firaun and his people; they are indeed a lawless nation.” (12) But when Our signs came to them visibly, they said, 'This is a manifest sorcery'; (13) and in their wickedness and self-exaltation they rejected them, although their minds were convinced of their truth: and behold what happened in the end to those spreaders of corruption!
