The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a Scripture that maketh plain; (1) a guidance and good tidings for the believers (2) who pray regularly and pay obligatory alms and have firm faith in the Hereafter. (3) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (4) Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. (5) And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are receiving the Quran from the One, All-Wise, All-Knowing. (6) When Moses said to his household: 'Indeed, I can see a fire far away. I will go and bring you news of it or I will bring you a lighted flame so that you can warm yourselves' (7) But when Moses came to the fire, a call was sounded: "Blessed is He Who is in the fire and whatever is around it. Glory be to Allah, the Sustainer of all in the Universe. (8) O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (9) And cast thou down thy staff. Then when he saw it wriggling as though it were a serpent, he turned in flight and looked not back. O Musa! fear thou not; verily in My presence the sent ones fear not. (10) "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (11) Put your hand inside your collar and it will come out luminous without evil? among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his nation, indeed they were an impious nation' (12) But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" (13) They denied those Signs out of iniquity and arrogance although their hearts were convinced of their truth. So see how evil was the end of those mischief-makers! (14)
