The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. These are verses from the Quran, a book that makes things clear; (1) A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- (2) who pray regularly and pay obligatory alms and have firm faith in the Hereafter. (3) As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds seem attractive to them so they stumble around in perplexity. (4) Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. (5) As for you, (O Muhammad), you are receiving the Qur'an from the Most Wise, the All-Knowing. (6) (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." (7) But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allah, Lord of the worlds. (8) O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (9) Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, (10) Excepting any who may have done wrong and thereafter changeth evil for good then verily I am Forgiving, Merciful. (11) Put your hand inside your collar and it will come out luminous without evil? among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his nation, indeed they were an impious nation' (12) Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” (13) And they persisted in rejecting them wrongfully and arrogantly, while in their hearts they were convinced of their truth. Observe, then, how evil was the fate of the evil-doers. (14)
