The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. THESE ARE MESSAGES of the Qur'an - a divine writ clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: (1) a guidance and glad tidings to believers, (2) Those who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter (resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.). (3) As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. (4) Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss. (5) And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are receiving the Quran from the One, All-Wise, All-Knowing. (6) (Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.” (7) So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds; (8) "O Musa (Moses)! Verily! It is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (9) Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, (10) Except those who do some wrong but afterwards do good to make up for the wrong. And I am forgiving and merciful. (11) And put thy hand into thy bosom, it shall come forth white, without hurt: amongst nine signs unto Fir'awn and his people. Verily they have been a people transgressing. (12) But when Our signs came to them in all their clarity they said, "This is clearly sorcery!" (13) And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters. (14)
