The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous. (1) A guide (to the Right Path); and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)]. (2) Who establish worship and pay the poor-due and are sure of the Hereafter. (3) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (4) It is they for whom is the worst punishment, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing. (6) (Remember) when Moses said unto his household: Lo! I spy afar off a fire; I will bring you tidings thence, or bring to you a borrowed flame that ye may warm yourselves. (7) But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. (8) O Musa! surely I am Allah, the Mighty, the Wise; (9) Throw down your staff." But when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned and fled. "Moses, do not be afraid! The messengers need have no fear in My presence; (10) as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. (11) And put thy hand into thy bosom, it shall come forth white, without hurt: amongst nine signs unto Fir'awn and his people. Verily they have been a people transgressing. (12) And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." (13) And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors. (14)
