The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; (1) A guidance and good news for the believers, (2) Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. (3) Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly. (4) they are the ones who will have the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. (5) (Muhammad), you have certainly received the Quran from the All-wise and All-knowing One. (6) (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." (7) And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! (8) Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. (9) Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, (10) Only the unjust become afraid in My presence. Even to these people who replace their bad deeds by good ones, I am All-forgiving and All-merciful. (11) Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." (12) But when Our signs came to them visibly, they said, 'This is a manifest sorcery'; (13) They rejected the evidence because of their arrogance and injustice, although their souls knew it to be true. Think how terrible the end of the sinful ones was! (14)
