The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta Sin! These are the verses of the Quran and the Book that makes (things) clear (1) a guidance and a glad tiding to the believers (2) Those who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter (resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.). (3) We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: (4) They will suffer the worst kind of torment and will be lost in the life to come. (5) As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. (6) When Moses said to his people 'I observe a fire, and will bring you news of it, or I will bring you a flaming brand, that haply you shall warm yourselves.' (7) So, when he came to it, he was called: 'Blessed is he who is in the fire, and he who is about it. Glory be to God, the Lord of all Being! (8) “O Moosa, I am indeed, in truth, Allah the Almighty, the Wise.” (9) And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence, (10) Save him who hath done wrong and afterward hath changed evil for good. And lo! I am Forgiving, Merciful. (11) And put thy hand into thy bosom, it shall come forth white, without hurt: amongst nine signs unto Fir'awn and his people. Verily they have been a people transgressing. (12) Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” (13) And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors. (14)
