The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Seen*; these are verses of the Qur’an and the clear Book. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) (1) a guidance and glad tidings to believers, (2) Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and are certain of the Hereafter. (3) Those who do not believe in the Hereafter We have made their deeds seem good to them, so they are astray. (4) those are they whom an evil chastisement awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) You have received the Koran from the Wise, the Knower. (6) (Remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his household: "Verily! I have seen a fire, I will bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand, that you may warm yourselves." (7) And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! (8) O Moses, verily this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise! (9) Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, (10) save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. (11) "Now place thy hand into thy bosom: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish!" [And thou shalt go] with nine [of My] messages unto Pharaoh and his people for, verily, they are people depraved!" (12) But when Our tokens came unto them, plain to see, they said: This is mere magic, (13) They rejected the evidence because of their arrogance and injustice, although their souls knew it to be true. Think how terrible the end of the sinful ones was! (14)
