The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ TA SIN. THESE are the verses of the Qur'an, and collection of explicit laws, (1) As guidance and good tidings for the believers (2) Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure. (3) As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. (4) those are they whom an evil chastisement awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) You have received the Koran from the Wise, the Knower. (6) (Remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his household: "Verily! I have seen a fire, I will bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand, that you may warm yourselves." (7) So, when he came to it, he was called: 'Blessed is he who is in the fire, and he who is about it. Glory be to God, the Lord of all Being! (8) Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. (9) Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, (10) except he who has committed some wrong. But if he substitutes good in place of evil, I am Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate. (11) Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." (12) But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" (13) And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! (14)
