The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a Scripture that maketh plain; (1) A guidance and good tidings for believers (2) Who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate, and of the Hereafter they are convinced. (3) Verily those who believe not in the Hereafter - fairseeming unto them We have made their works, so that they wander perplexed. (4) These are they who shall have an evil punishment, and in the hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. (5) And most surely you are made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing Allah. (6) (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." (7) But when he came close to it, a call was sounded: "Blessed are all who are within [reach of] this fire, and all who are near it! And limitless in His glory is God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!" (8) Moses, behold, it is I, God, the All-mighty, the All-wise. (9) Throw down your staff." But when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned and fled. "Moses, do not be afraid! The messengers need have no fear in My presence; (10) except he who has committed some wrong. But if he substitutes good in place of evil, I am Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate. (11) Put your hand into your pocket. It will come out sheer white but unharmed. This is one of the nine miracles which shall be showing to the Pharaoh and his people; they are truly wicked men." (12) And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." (13) And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! (14)
