The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous. (1) a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers (2) Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure. (3) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (4) They are those who will suffer the worst chastisement in this life, and will be the greatest losers in the life to come. (5) And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are receiving the Quran from the One, All-Wise, All-Knowing. (6) (Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.” (7) But when Moses came to the fire, a call was sounded: "Blessed is He Who is in the fire and whatever is around it. Glory be to Allah, the Sustainer of all in the Universe. (8) O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. (9) Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, (10) Only the unjust become afraid in My presence. Even to these people who replace their bad deeds by good ones, I am All-forgiving and All-merciful. (11) "Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression." (12) But when Our Clear Signs came to them, they said: "This is plain magic." (13) And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers! (14)
