The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a Scripture that maketh plain; (1) a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers (2) Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter. (3) Lo! as for those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their works fairseeming unto them so that they are all astray. (4) Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. (5) (Muhammad), you have certainly received the Quran from the All-wise and All-knowing One. (6) (Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.” (7) So when he reached it, it was proclaimed, “Blessed is he who is in the location of the fire (Moosa) and those who are close to it (the angels); and Purity is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.” (8) Moses, it is I, Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. (9) Throw down your staff." But when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned and fled. "Moses, do not be afraid! The messengers need have no fear in My presence; (10) Save him who hath done wrong and afterward hath changed evil for good. And lo! I am Forgiving, Merciful. (11) Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." (12) But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" (13) They denied them unjustly out of pride, though their souls acknowledged them. See, how was the end of the corrupt workers! (14)
