The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of the illustrious Book (1) a guidance, and good tidings unto the believers (2) who are constant in prayer and spend in charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! (3) As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. (4) They will suffer the worst kind of torment and will be lost in the life to come. (5) And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an from before the Wise, the Knowing. (6) When Musa said to his family: Surely I see fire; I will bring to you from it some news, or I will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves. (7) But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. (8) O Moses, verily this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise! (9) And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear. (10) Excepting any who may have done wrong and thereafter changeth evil for good then verily I am Forgiving, Merciful. (11) “And put your hand inside your armpit it will come out shining white, not due to any illness; a sign among the nine signs towards Firaun and his people; they are indeed a lawless nation.” (12) Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest. (13) And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters. (14)
