The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear; (1) a guidance and a glad tiding to the believers (2) who establish their prayers, and pay the obligatory charity, and are certain of the Everlasting Life. (3) As for those who will not believe in the life to come - behold, goodly have We made their own doings appear unto them, and so they stumble blindly to and fro (4) They are those who will suffer the worst chastisement in this life, and will be the greatest losers in the life to come. (5) (Muhammad), you have certainly received the Quran from the All-wise and All-knowing One. (6) (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." (7) But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allah, Lord of the worlds. (8) Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. (9) And cast down your staff. So when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not return: O Musa! fear not; surely the apostles shall not fear in My presence; (10) Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful. (11) And enter your hand into the opening of your bosom, it shall come forth white without evil; among nine signs to Firon and his people, surely they are a transgressing people. (12) But when Our tokens came unto them, plain to see, they said: This is mere magic, (13) And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly!
