The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ TA SIN. THESE are the verses of the Qur'an, and collection of explicit laws, (1) They are glad news and guidance for the believers (2) Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter. (3) As to those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, but they blindly wander on. (4) It is they for whom a grievous chastisement lies in store; it is they who shall be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) You have received this Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing. (6) Lo! [While lost in the desert,] Moses said to his family: "Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]; I may bring you from there some tiding [as to which way we are to pursue,] or bring you [at least] a burning brand so that you might warm yourselves." (7) But when he reached it, he was called, saying: Blessed is Whosoever is in the fire and Whosoever is round about it! And Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! (8) [And God spoke thus:] "O Moses! Verily I alone am God, the Almighty, the Wise!" (9) Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, (10) “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) (11) Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people." (12) But when Our signs came to them visibly, they said, 'This is a manifest sorcery'; (13) And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Musa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Musa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.). (14)
