The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta Sin! These are the verses of the Quran and the Book that makes (things) clear (1) A guidance and good tidings for believers (2) Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. (3) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (4) Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. (5) You have been conveyed the Qur'an from One all-wise and all-knowing. (6) [Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves." (7) But when he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is whosoever is in the fire, and whosoever is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (8) O Moses, I am God, the Powerful, the Wise. (9) And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence, (10) except he who has done evil, then, after evil, has changed into good. I am the Forgiving, Most Merciful. (11) Put your hand inside your collar and it will come out luminous without evil? among the nine signs to Pharaoh and his nation, indeed they were an impious nation' (12) But when Our Clear Signs came to them, they said: "This is plain magic." (13) They denied those Signs out of iniquity and arrogance although their hearts were convinced of their truth. So see how evil was the end of those mischief-makers! (14)
