The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. Those are the signs of the Koran and a Manifest Book, (1) A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- (2) Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. (3) As for those who will not believe in the life to come - behold, goodly have We made their own doings appear unto them, and so they stumble blindly to and fro (4) Those are they for whom shall be an evil torment. And in the Hereafter they shall be the greatest losers. (5) You have received this Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing. (6) (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." (7) But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. (8) "O Musa (Moses)! Verily! It is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (9) Throw down your staff." When Moses saw his staff on the ground moving like a living creature, he stepped back and did not come forward again. The Lord said,"Moses, do not be afraid. Messengers do not become afraid in My presence". (10) as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. (11) Thrust thy hand in thy bosom and it will come forth white without evil-among nine signs to Pharaoh and his people; they are an ungodly people.' (12) But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic." (13) And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their ownselves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Musa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Musa (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.). (14)
