The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book (1) a guidance and glad tidings to believers, (2) who establish Prayer and give Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. (3) We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: (4) They are those who will suffer the worst chastisement in this life, and will be the greatest losers in the life to come. (5) As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. (6) Tell of Moses who said to his family, "I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning brand for you to warm yourselves." (7) But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. (8) "O Musa (Moses)! Verily! It is I, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (9) Cast down your staff' And when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and did not turn back. 'Moses, do not fear, indeed the Messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me, (10) as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. (11) "Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression." (12) Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” (13) And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers. (14)
