The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TaSeen. Those are the verses of the Koran, a clear Book, (1) A guidance and good news for the believers, (2) Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. (3) As to those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, but they blindly wander on. (4) It is they for whom is the worst punishment, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) You have received this Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing. (6) (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." (7) But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. (8) O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. (9) Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, (10) as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. (11) And enter your hand into the opening of your bosom, it shall come forth white without evil; among nine signs to Firon and his people, surely they are a transgressing people. (12) Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” (13) And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers! (14)
