The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta-Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous. (1) As guidance and good tidings for the believers (2) Who establish worship and pay the poor-due and are sure of the Hereafter. (3) We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: (4) Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers. (5) You have received the Koran from the Wise, the Knower. (6) Tell of Moses who said to his family, "I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning brand for you to warm yourselves." (7) But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. (8) O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. (9) Throw down your staff." When Moses saw his staff on the ground moving like a living creature, he stepped back and did not come forward again. The Lord said,"Moses, do not be afraid. Messengers do not become afraid in My presence". (10) Except those who do some wrong but afterwards do good to make up for the wrong. And I am forgiving and merciful. (11) “And put your hand inside your armpit it will come out shining white, not due to any illness; a sign among the nine signs towards Firaun and his people; they are indeed a lawless nation.” (12) But when Our light-giving messages came unto them, they said, "This is clearly [but] spellbinding deception!" (13) They denied those Signs out of iniquity and arrogance although their hearts were convinced of their truth. So see how evil was the end of those mischief-makers! (14)
