The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book (1) A guidance and good tidings for the believers, (2) who are constant in prayer and spend in charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! (3) We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: (4) Those are they for whom is the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. (5) (Muhammad), you have certainly received the Quran from the All-wise and All-knowing One. (6) Behold! Moses said to his family: "I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel, that ye may warm yourselves. (7) And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! (8) “O Moosa, I am indeed, in truth, Allah the Almighty, the Wise.” (9) Cast down your staff' And when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and did not turn back. 'Moses, do not fear, indeed the Messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me, (10) except he who has done evil, then, after evil, has changed into good. I am the Forgiving, Most Merciful. (11) “And put your hand inside your armpit it will come out shining white, not due to any illness; a sign among the nine signs towards Firaun and his people; they are indeed a lawless nation.” (12) And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." (13) And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! (14)
