The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of the illustrious Book (1) A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- (2) who are steadfast in prayer, who pay the religious tax, and who have strong faith in the life hereafter. (3) Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so they wander about blindly. (4) It is they for whom a grievous chastisement lies in store; it is they who shall be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. (5) And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an from before the Wise, the Knowing. (6) Lo! [While lost in the desert,] Moses said to his family: "Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]; I may bring you from there some tiding [as to which way we are to pursue,] or bring you [at least] a burning brand so that you might warm yourselves." (7) But when he reached it, he was called, saying: Blessed is Whosoever is in the fire and Whosoever is round about it! And Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! (8) O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. (9) “And put down your staff”; so when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned moving away without looking back; We said, “O Moosa, do not fear; indeed the Noble Messengers do not fear in My presence.” (10) "Except him who has done wrong and afterwards has changed evil for good, then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (11) And put thy hand into thy bosom, it shall come forth white, without hurt: amongst nine signs unto Fir'awn and his people. Verily they have been a people transgressing. (12) But when Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came to them, clear to see, they said: "This is a manifest magic." (13) And they denied them whereas in their hearts they were certain of them due to injustice and pride; therefore see what sort of fate befell the mischievous! (14)
