The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. THESE ARE MESSAGES of the Qur'an - a divine writ clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: (1) A guidance and good news for the believers, (2) Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. (3) Those who do not believe in the Hereafter We have made their deeds seem good to them, so they are astray. (4) Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. (5) You have received this Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing. (6) When Musa said to his family: Surely I see fire; I will bring to you from it some news, or I will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves. (7) Then when he came unto it, he was cried unto: Thus; Blest is whosoever is in the fire and whosoever is around it; and hallowed be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. (8) [And God spoke thus:] "O Moses! Verily I alone am God, the Almighty, the Wise!" (9) And cast thou down thy staff. Then when he saw it wriggling as though it were a serpent, he turned in flight and looked not back. O Musa! fear thou not; verily in My presence the sent ones fear not. (10) except he who has committed some wrong. But if he substitutes good in place of evil, I am Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate. (11) "Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression." (12) And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." (13) And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly! (14)
