The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book (1) A guidance and glad tidings for the believers. (2) who are constant in prayer and spend in charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! (3) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (4) Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers. (5) As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. (6) (Remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his household: "Verily! I have seen a fire, I will bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand, that you may warm yourselves." (7) And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! (8) Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. (9) Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent he turned his back and fled without turning (to look). "O Moses," (said the voice), "be not fearful. Surely those sent as messengers do not fear in My presence, (10) as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. (11) Now put your hand into your bosom, and it will come forth shining without any blemish. (These are two of the) nine Signs to be carried to Pharaoh and his people. They are surely a wicked people." (12) So when Our clear signs came to them, they said: This is clear enchantment. (13) They denied them unjustly out of pride, though their souls acknowledged them. See, how was the end of the corrupt workers! (14)
