The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of the illustrious Book (1) a guidance and glad tidings to believers, (2) Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. (3) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have decked out fair for them their works, and they wander blindly; (4) Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss. (5) Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware. (6) (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." (7) So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds; (8) O Moses, verily this is Me, Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise! (9) Throw down your staff." When Moses saw his staff on the ground moving like a living creature, he stepped back and did not come forward again. The Lord said,"Moses, do not be afraid. Messengers do not become afraid in My presence". (10) "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (11) And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient." (12) But when Our light-giving messages came unto them, they said, "This is clearly [but] spellbinding deception!" (13) And they denied them whereas in their hearts they were certain of them due to injustice and pride; therefore see what sort of fate befell the mischievous! (14)
