The Ant (Al-Naml)
93 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Poets (Alshu'araa') before Stories (Al-Qasas)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; (1) They are glad news and guidance for the believers (2) Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter. (3) As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. (4) Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers. (5) (Muhammad), you have certainly received the Quran from the All-wise and All-knowing One. (6) When Moses said to his household: 'Indeed, I can see a fire far away. I will go and bring you news of it or I will bring you a lighted flame so that you can warm yourselves' (7) So, when he came to it, he was called: 'Blessed is he who is in the fire, and he who is about it. Glory be to God, the Lord of all Being! (8) Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. (9) And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence, (10) “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) (11) Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." (12) And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." (13) And they denied them out of malice and pride, though in their hearts they believed that they were true. So see how was the end of evil-doers! (14)
