Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: (192) brought down by the Faithful Spirit (193) Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. (194) In plain Arabic speech. (195) Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. (196) And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? (197) If We had revealed it to a nonArab, (198) who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. (199) Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. (200) They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. (201) It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. (202) Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" (203) Do they want to hasten Our punishment? (204) What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, (205) And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. (206) That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? (207) We never destroyed a village that did not have warners (208) By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. (209) It was not the satans who brought it down: (210) neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, (211) Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. (212) Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. (213) And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, (214) And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. (215) then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' (216) And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- (217) who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] (218) And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). (219) Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. (220) Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! (221) They descend upon every lying, sinful one, (222) Who give ear, and most of them are liars. (223) Only the erring people follow the poets. (224) Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, (225) And that they say that which they do not do, (226) except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. (227)
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
