The tribe of Thamud also rejected the messengers. (141) Recall when their brother Salih said to them: "Have you no fear?" (142) I am for you a faithful Messenger, (143) “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” (144) “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” (145) “Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?” (146) Within gardens and springs (147) And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? (148) carving comfortable houses out of the mountains? (149) So fear you God, and obey you me; (150) Do not obey the order of the wasteful, (151) "Who make mischief in the land, and reform not." (152) They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! (153) "Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!" (154) He said, “This is the she-camel one day shall be her turn to drink, and on the other appointed day, shall be your turn.” (155) so do her no harm, or the punishment of an awful day will befall you." (156) But they killed her, and then they became regretful. (157) So the retribution came on them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. (158) Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. (159)
