And convey unto them the story of Abraham (69) When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? (70) They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." (71) 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. (72) or can they benefit or harm you?" (73) They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. (74) He said: have ye observed that which ye worship (75) You and your ancient forefathers? (76) Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. (77) Who created me and showed me the way, (78) And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: (79) And when I am ill, it is He who cures me (80) And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; (81) "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. (82) "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; (83) And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. (84) and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; (85) and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. (86) And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - (87) "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, (88) and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." (89) "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, (90) and Hell advanced for the perverse. (91) they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped (92) other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' (93) So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators (94) and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. (95) Disputing among themselves they will say: (96) "By God, we were most obviously astray (97) when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds (98) And none but the guilty led us astray; (99) and we have no intercessors now, (100) "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). (101) If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." (102) Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. (103) And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. (104)
