۞ Say those who look not to encounter Us, 'Why have the angels not been sent down on us, or why see we not our Lord?' Waxed proud they have within them, and become greatly disdainful. 21 The Day, when they will see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!" 22 We shall turn to their deeds and scatter them like particles of dust. 23 The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place. 24 And the day when the sky will be split asunder with clouds and the angels will be sent down in full. 25 The real Kingdom on that Day will belong only to the Merciful, and it will be a very hard Day for the disbelievers. 26 and a Day on which the evildoer will bite his hands [in despair,] exclaiming: "Oh, would that I had followed the path shown to me by the apostle! 27 Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. 28 He led me astray from the Warning after it had come to me. Satan always betrays man. 29 The Messenger says, 'O my Lord, behold, my people have taken this Koran as a thing to be shunned.' 30 O Muhammad, in this very way We have made the criminals the enemies of every Prophet, but your Lord suffices for you as your Guide and Helper. 31 And those who disbelieve say: wherefore is the Qur'an not revealed unto him entire at once! Thus - We reveal - that We may establish thy heart therewith; and We have repeated it with a repetition. 32 And they shall not bring to you any argument, but We have brought to you (one) with truth and best in significance. 33 Those who shall be mustered to Gehenna upon their faces -- they shall be worse in place, and gone further astray from the way. 34
