۞ And those who fear not the meeting with Us say: wherefore are not angels sent down unto us or wherefore we see not our Lord! Assuredly they have proven stiff-necked in their souls and have exceeded the bounds with excess great. (21) On the Day they will see the angels, no glad tidings will there be for the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) that day. And they (angels) will say: "All kinds of glad tidings are forbidden for you," [None will be allowed to enter Paradise except the one who said: La ilaha ill-Allah, "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) and acted practically on its legal orders and obligations]. (22) And We shall set upon that which they worked, and shall make it as dust wind-scattered. (23) Those who have earned the Garden on that day will be better in their home and happier in their place of noonday rest; (24) And on the Day whereon the heaven shall be rent asunder from the clouds and the angels shall be sent down with a great descending. (25) The real Kingdom on that Day will belong only to the Merciful, and it will be a very hard Day for the disbelievers. (26) Upon the day the evildoer shall bite his hands, saying, 'Would that I had taken a way along with the Messenger! (27) Alas, would that I had not taken So-and-so for a friend! (28) Assuredly he misled me from the admonition after it had come unto me. Verily the Satan is ever unto man a betrayer. (29) And the messenger saith: O my Lord! Lo! mine own folk make this Qur'an of no account. (30) Thus, from the sinful people We made enemies for every Prophet. Your Lord is a Sufficient Guide and Helper. (31) The disbelievers say, "Why has not the entire Qur'an been sent down to this man all at once?" -Well, this has been done to impress it deeply on your mind, and (for the same object) We have sent it down piecemeal by degrees. (32) They bring not to thee any similitude but that We bring thee the truth, and better in exposition. (33) (As for) those who shall be gathered upon their faces to hell, they are in a worse plight and straying farther away from the path. (34)
