۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! (21) The Day, when they will see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!" (22) And We turned all the deeds they had performed into scattered floating specks of dust. (23) The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. (24) On a Day when the sky will split open with its clouds and the angels are sent down rank upon rank, (25) The kingdom on that day shall rightly belong to the Beneficent Allah, and a hard day shall it be for the unbelievers. (26) Upon the day the evildoer shall bite his hands, saying, 'Would that I had taken a way along with the Messenger! (27) Oh, woe is me! Would that I had not taken so-and-so for a friend! (28) He led me astray from the Warning after it had come to me. Satan always betrays man. (29) And the Messenger will say, "O my Lord, my people had made this Qur'an the object of their ridicule." (30) And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper. (31) Now they who are bent on denying the truth are wont to ask. "Why has not the Qur'an been bestowed on him from on high in one single revelation?" [it has been revealed] in this manner so that We might strengthen thy heart thereby - for We have so arranged its component parts that they form one consistent whole (32) And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation. (33) Those who will be dragged on their faces towards hell theirs is the worst destination and they are the most astray. (34)
