۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. (21) Upon the day that they see the angels, no good tidings that day for the sinners; they shall say, 'A ban forbidden!' (22) We shall call their deeds into Our presence and scatter them into the air as dust (turn them devoid of all virtue). (23) The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. (24) Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, (25) That Day, the dominion as of right and truth, shall be (wholly) for (Allah) Most Merciful: it will be a Day of dire difficulty for the misbelievers. (26) The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! (27) Ah! woe unto me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! (28) he made me forgetful of the warning after it had reached me. Satan is man's great betrayer." (29) The Messenger will say, "Lord, my people did indeed discard the Quran," (30) Thus, from the sinful people We made enemies for every Prophet. Your Lord is a Sufficient Guide and Helper. (31) And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly. (32) Every time they raise an objection, We will bring you the truth and the best of explanations. (33) [And so, tell those who are bent on denying the truth that] they who shall be gathered unto hell upon their faces - it is they who [in the life to come] will be worst in station and still farther astray from the path [of truth]! (34)
