۞ Say those who look not to encounter Us, 'Why have the angels not been sent down on us, or why see we not our Lord?' Waxed proud they have within them, and become greatly disdainful. (21) On the day when the criminals see the angels, there will, certainly, be no rejoicing for them. Rather, they will plead to the angels, "Please keep away from us (do not drive us into hell)." (22) Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust. (23) The dwellers of the garden shall on that day be in a better abiding-place and a better resting-place. (24) On a Day when the sky will split open with its clouds and the angels are sent down rank upon rank, (25) true sovereignty on that Day will belong to the Gracious One, and it will be a hard Day for those who deny the truth. (26) It will be a hard day for the unbelievers. It will be a day when the unjust will bite their fingers, (regretfully) saying, "Would that we had followed the path of the Messengers. (27) Woe alas, ah would I had not taken so-and-so as friend! (28) He led me astray from the Warning after it had come to me. Satan always betrays man. (29) The Messengers will say, "Lord, my people had abandoned this Quran." (30) And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper. (31) And those who disbelieve say: Why has not the Quran been revealed to him all at once? Thus, that We may strengthen your heart by it and We have arranged it well in arranging. (32) And they come not unto thee with a similitude but We bring thee the truth and an excellent interpretation. (33) Those who will be pushed faces forward into Hell will be in a worse position, farther away from the path. (34)
