۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. (21) [Yet] on that Day - the Day on which they shall see the angels there will be no glad tiding for those who were lost in sin; and they will exclaim, "By a forbidding ban [are we from God's grace debarred]!" (22) We shall advance upon what work they have done, and make it a scattered dust. (23) [whereas] on that same Day those who are destined for paradise will be graced with the best of abodes and the fairest place of repose. (24) A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder and the angels will be sent down, a grand descent. (25) The Sovereignty on that day will be the True (Sovereignty) belonging to the Beneficent One, and it will be a hard day for disbelievers. (26) The sinner will then bite his hand and say: "Would that I had taken the road with the Prophet. (27) Oh, woe is me! Would that I had not taken so-and-so for a friend! (28) He led me astray from the Warning after it had come to me. Satan always betrays man. (29) Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense." (30) To every Prophet We have appointed an enemy among the harmdoers; your Lord is Sufficient for you, a Guide and a Helper. (31) Those who reject Faith say: "Why is not the Qur'an revealed to him all at once? Thus (is it revealed), that We may strengthen thy heart thereby, and We have rehearsed it to thee in slow, well-arranged stages, gradually. (32) and [that] they [who deny the truth] might never taunt thee with any deceptive half-truth without Our conveying to thee the [full] truth and [providing thee] with the best explanation. (33) Those who will be pushed faces forward into Hell will be in a worse position, farther away from the path. (34)
