۞ And those who do not hope for Our meeting, say: Why have not angels been sent down upon us, or (why) do we not see our Lord? Now certainly they are too proud of themselves and have revolted in great revolt. (21) The day they see the angels - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible." (22) And We shall set upon that which they worked, and shall make it as dust wind-scattered. (23) [whereas] on that same Day those who are destined for paradise will be graced with the best of abodes and the fairest place of repose. (24) A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder and the angels will be sent down, a grand descent. (25) The Sovereignty on that day will be the True (Sovereignty) belonging to the Beneficent One, and it will be a hard day for disbelievers. (26) The sinner will then bite his hand and say: "Would that I had taken the road with the Prophet. (27) "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! (28) Assuredly he misled me from the admonition after it had come unto me. Verily the Satan is ever unto man a betrayer. (29) Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense." (30) Even so We have appointed to every Prophet an enemy among the sinners; but thy Lord suffices as a guide and as a helper. (31) And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly. (32) And (there is another wisdom in this: whenever they brought to you an odd thing (or a strange question), We sent its right answer to you in time and explained it all in the best manner, (33) Those who will be dragged headlong into Hell shall have an evil place to dwell in, for they have strayed far from the right path. (34)
