۞ And those who expect not for a Meeting with Us (i.e. those who deny the Day of Resurrection and the life of the Hereafter), say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they think too highly of themselves, and are scornful with great pride. (21) On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden' (22) And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did (in this life), and We shall make such deeds as floating dust scattered about. (23) The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. (24) Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, (25) The dominion on that Day shall be the true dominion of the Compassionate, and it shall be a day upon the infidels hard. (26) The sinner will then bite his hand and say: "Would that I had taken the road with the Prophet. (27) Would that I had never chosen soandso for my companion! (28) Assuredly he misled me from the admonition after it had come unto me. Verily the Satan is ever unto man a betrayer. (29) The Messenger will say, "Lord, my people did indeed discard the Quran," (30) O Muhammad, in this very way We have made the criminals the enemies of every Prophet, but your Lord suffices for you as your Guide and Helper. (31) And those who disbelieve say: "Why is not the Quran revealed to him all at once?" Thus (it is sent down in parts), that We may strengthen your heart thereby. And We have revealed it to you gradually, in stages. (It was revealed to the Prophet SAW in 23 years.). (32) We will support you with the Truth and the best interpretation whenever the infidels argue against you. (33) Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces,- they will be in an evil plight, and, as to Path, most astray. (34)
