۞ And those who fear not the meeting with Us say: wherefore are not angels sent down unto us or wherefore we see not our Lord! Assuredly they have proven stiff-necked in their souls and have exceeded the bounds with excess great. (21) On the day when they behold the angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: A forbidding ban! (22) And We shall set upon that which they worked, and shall make it as dust wind-scattered. (23) And for the People of the Garden on that day is a better destination and account, and a better place of afternoon rest. (24) Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, (25) The dominion on that Day shall be the true dominion of the Compassionate, and it shall be a day upon the infidels hard. (26) The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! (27) Oh, would that I had never chosen such a one for my companion -- (28) For it was he, who had deluded me to reject the Admonition which had come to me. Satan has proved very treacherous to man. " (29) The Messenger will say, "Lord, my people did indeed discard the Quran," (30) For so it is that against every prophet We have set up enemies from among those who are lost in sin: yet none can guide and give succour as thy Sustainer does! (31) And those who disbelieve say: Why is the Qur'an not revealed unto him all at once? (It is revealed) thus that We may strengthen thy heart therewith; and We have arranged it in right order. (32) And (there is another wisdom in this: whenever they brought to you an odd thing (or a strange question), We sent its right answer to you in time and explained it all in the best manner, (33) Those who shall be mustered to Gehenna upon their faces -- they shall be worse in place, and gone further astray from the way. (34)
